Health Law

The Health Law Section welcomes all CBA Alberta members interested in learning about health legislation, regulatory issues and litigation, and connected health practitioners and policy makers with lawyers for education and communication.

Areas of focus for the Section include the development of health legislation including professional regulation, mental health, quality assurance and privacy legislation; health policy including adverse event disclosure, end of life care, medical marijuana and medical assistance in dying; and litigation with a focus on medical malpractice issues including civil procedure, use of experts and damage quantification.

Meeting Dates:

  • North: 12:00 P.M., fourth Wednesday (5 meetings - Oct, Jan, Mar, Apr, Jun)
  • South: 12:00 P.M., Second Thursday (8 meetings)
