Public’s Right to Know Act, SA 2022 cP-47

Summary

The Public’s Right to Know Act requires the Minister to table a report annually before the Legislative Assembly, as soon as practicable if the Legislative Assembly is sitting or, if it is not sitting, within 15 days after the commencement of the next sitting regarding crime data and information about the criminal justice system. The Minister must publish the report on the website of the Minister’s department within 30 days after it is laid before the Legislative Assembly.

The Act authorizes information-sharing agreements with the federal government, municipalities, other provinces and territories, council of bands and police services for the provision of data and information.
