Assistance programs
The Alberta Lawyers’ Assistance Society provides confidential counselling, education, peer support and referrals to lawyers, judges, students and other members of the legal community.
The Judges Counselling Program of Canada provides federally and provincially appointed active and retired Judges, Justices of the Peace, Masters (Applications Judges), Prothonotaries, and their spouses and eligible children with access to short-term counselling and worklife solutions.
The CBA Alberta Compassionate Dues Relief Program is available to Alberta members who do not otherwise qualify for the national waiver of dues programs, and is meant for lawyers who are struggling in their practice due to unexpected circumstances such as illness or undue financial hardship.
