Section enrollment is now open for the 2025-26 programming year, and we have implemented some exciting changes to make our Practice & Identity Group Sections more accessible to members.
Starting this year, the Articling Students, In-House Lawyers (formerly CCCA), Law Firm Management & Leadership, Small, Solo & General Practice, SAGDA (Sexual & Gender Diversity Alliance), Women Lawyers Forum and Young Lawyers Sections are now FREE to join for all members. By enrolling, you will have access to live webcast sessions, on-demand recordings, special event invitations, and regular updates from the Section. This is a great way to stay informed about developments in your practice group – at no charge to you!
Many of these Sections continue to offer in-person professional development and networking events in addition to their virtual offerings. If you are interested in attending in-person meetings, you can opt to pay a per-meeting drop-in fee, or upgrade to a full subscription to your Sections for unlimited meeting access throughout the year. Participating in Sections in person gives you the opportunity to build community and make connections with members around Alberta, and we hope to see you in one of our offices this coming year.
Our Sections will continue to deliver the benefits that nearly half of Alberta members value – high-quality professional development and networking opportunities developed by lawyers, for lawyers, boundaryless access to content from our North and South Sections, and the flexibility to attend when and where it is convenient for you, whether that be in-person, by live webcast, or on-demand.
On behalf of the CBA Alberta team, we sincerely thank all our Section volunteers for making this programming possible each year. We are always looking for new volunteers to join us and invite you to learn more about how volunteering for Sections can help you build profile and gain experience.
We look forward to another successful Section programming year! Please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our Sections team if you have any questions about your Sections.
