We are currently recruiting for a Senior Litigation Associate to join our Alberta team. This position is for a Lawyer with 7+ years of post-call civil litigation experience. The successful candidate will have experience in handling complex insurance or commercial litigation matters in Alberta and will be capable of managing all phases of litigated cases independently and to high degrees of competence and professionalism. Experience handling construction, professional liability, complex bodily injury, or product liability matters is highly desirable. The position will allow the successful candidate to focus on areas of interest within insurance or commercial litigation, or to maintain a general practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex litigated files independently

  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship within the team, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting the development of junior colleagues

  • Support the firm's key practice areas, ensuring effective communication and strong client service

  • Actively engage in business development activities to drive growth and visibility

  • Achieve both billable and non-billable targets, contributing to the firm’s overall performance and success

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Canada and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta

  • 7+ years of post-call civil litigation experience

  • Exceptional proficiency in English, with strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrable organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team, maintaining professionalism in all interactions

  • Proven ability to manage a busy litigation practice while efficiently coordinating with team members
