The Young Lawyers Section is open to all CBA members who are under 40 years-old, or have been called to the bar for less than 10 years, which includes articling students. The section focuses on the development and enhancement of legal skills and knowledge, the sharing of practice management tips and tools, and providing venues for social networking. During our monthly lunchtime meetings, speakers from a variety of backgrounds will explore issues relevant to newer lawyers and to articling students who are entering the profession. Past meeting topics have included primers on certain areas of the law, how-to presentations regarding transactions or procedures, and panel discussions by members of the judiciary. We plan social events throughout the year that offer a casual setting to meet with other young lawyers and share ideas. The goal of the Section is to assist young lawyers in building a solid foundation for their legal practice. We are proud to host the annual Meet the Bench reception where our members can mingle with Masters, Judges and Justices of Alberta’s courts.
Join this Section and engage with fellow junior members of the bar.
