Access to Justice Week
Access to Justice Week is held annually in Alberta and across Canada as a means to promote the important work being done in our communities to improve access to justice for Canadians.
Many Canadians suffer due to lack of access to justice. They face obstacles including a lack of fluency in English, physical distance from justice services, economic barriers, and distrust of legal institutions. There are many groups and individuals who work hard everyday to provide greater access to justice for Albertans. During Access to Justice Week, the CBA Alberta and other stakeholders in the justice space host events and activities across the province highlighting the importance of justice, the barriers to accessing it, and the ways we can work together to break down those barriers.
