CBA Alberta statement on the expansion of the Alberta Family Justice Strategy

July 23, 2025

CBA Alberta welcomes the announcement of the expansion of the Alberta Family Justice Strategy to additional communities throughout the province. This represents a significant achievement in the collective efforts of partners across the justice system.

CBA Alberta has been an unwavering advocate for innovations in the family justice system, and we are pleased to see meaningful progress being made towards the goal of improving the experience for Albertans who engage with it. This expansion is also a positive step forward for Albertans living in smaller communities throughout the province, as the introduction of important services such as these in regional communities is vital to promoting fairness and equity in our justice system.

From our public opinion research, we know that Albertans are willing to invest in resources to improve the speed and efficiency of our courts, and we will continue to advocate for such improvements to the family justice system. We thank all CBA Alberta members who took the time to complete government surveys and provide their feedback directly to us, so that we can continue to engage with justice sector partners on this matter.
